About this Project
The future of work begins today. And it is we who give this future a direction.
This newsletter explores how artificial intelligence changes how we work through the lens of the engineers who develop this technology and the leaders who drive the adoption of AI in business and society.
Each season, we dive into one theme at the intersection of AI, labor, politics and society. In interviews with technologists, academics, creatives, workers, and managers, we look behind the headlines and uncover the quiet revolutions unfolding inside companies, economies, and countries.
Business empires and nations were built with human labor throughout history. It has inspired how we think about god and class, it has shaped identities and sparked revolutions.
And sometimes, work has changed the very fabric of society.
This is the time we are living on now.
From AI labs in San Francisco to shop floors in Munich, from government summits in Brussels to creative studios in Tokyo, we track the people, ideas, and hubs that will shape work life in the second half of this decade.
Our readers are professionals, policymakers, creatives and technologists navigating the transformation of work. By sparking the right conversations, we intend to bring clarity, connection and inspiration.
Writing for this Moment in Time
This newsletter is published in seasons. Each season consists of five editions, representing the workdays of a week, but published twice a week. Each conversation brings a new perspective on a current theme at the intersection of technology, business and society. The sixth edition is a reflection on what we have learned this season and is intended to be an invitation to share your perspectives, too.
With this newsletter, we aim to look beyond the conversations on the current state of work and intend to look at how AI changes the institutions and habits of work.
